Certification Program

katy-certification RESTORATIVE EXERCISE SPECIALIST™ TRAINING PROGRAM

Our education program is based on the biomechanical theory of optimal wellness, and is an in-depth look at how the mechanics of the “human machine” function optimally.  Designed for the health practitioner or experienced layman, this course covers the Biomechanical Model of Preventive Medicine, the effect of alignment on blood flow, and the mechanics of the major musculoskeletal functions of the body.  In addition to lecture, the practical component of the program allows Restorative Exercise Specialists to optimize their own motor skills while learning how to teach and evaluate others using the Restorative Exercise protocol.

“I am a practicing PT so I incorporate (Restorative Exercise) into my initial assessments and utilize it everyday in treatments and in patient education/ home exercise programs throughout their treatment duration.

I am very pleased with the training and have found the knowledge to be invaluable to practicing PT. Conveying wellness to patients and being able to empower them with the knowledge of how to take control is a great feeling.  I have had wonderful feedback and success with it.”

COURSE CONTENT
All course material is free from culture-based theory, and relies on science and evidence-based arguments.

Begin with biological theory – the physics of cellular regeneration, current models in pain management, and how the alignment of the skeleton contributes to diseases considered a “normal” part of aging.

In addition to corrective exercise, the student will be learning how neurology and motor learning are affected by muscle usage, and how to align the body objectively.

Other topics include physics of blood flow, respiration, pelvic floor, shoulder girdle, physics of pain, and hierarchy of muscle function.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY TRAINING?

With a deep understanding of how motor skill affects every function in the body – from breathing to elimination to plantar fasciitis – you can now begin to maintain your machine with the services it requires.  Beyond yourself, you will have an excellent toolbox to draw from to understand and aid family and friends with their wellness issues.

Should you wish to use Restorative Exercise professionally, there are numerous outlets.  Add Restorative Exercise corrective prescription to any healing practice.  Exercise professionals – yoga, pilates, and fitness – will now be able to develop a program much more appropriate for the individual that places health before performance, and for those who wish to stop exacerbating chronic pain.  Help individuals understand what they are doing that is keeping them in pain and disease.

The certification is also a stand-alone certificate.  Upon completing the program, you are now a Restorative Exercise Specialist – Certified Personal Trainer.  You are certified to offer Restorative Exercise classes and sessions in your area.
